The establishment of the Department of English dates back to the inception of Rajendra College in 1944. English Honours was introduced in 1970-71 academic year, leading to the creation of thousands of deserving students as its alumni so far. These students have been successfully working in different professional domains of human society across the globe. P.G. in English was introduced in 2017-18 academic year, and continuing as such getting associated with many regular curricular activities like conducting seminars and debating, etc. The Department has adopted CBCS based syllabus. In addition, English is also taught as a compulsory subject for Arts/Science/Commerce undergraduate classes.
